I started playing tennis when I was in 9th grade. The reason why I started playing tennis is because every time I go to Court One, the only sport I play is basketball, and sometimes I get really bored when no one is there. So I decided to give tennis a try. You might ask why I choose tennis over other sports. I chose tennis is because one of my friend is actually on the tennis varsity team, and he said he can practice with me and teach me some skills and tips about play tennis. Where did I actually learn how to play tennis?
I learned most of my tennis at Court One, the coaches there are nice and very patient. I still remember my first tennis lesson, I can barely hit the ball over the net and I struggled with my feet position, for example, when the ball comes right at me, I would stand still and do whatever I could to hit the ball back, but that isn't correct. The correct way to hit the ball back when the ball comes right at you is to choose if you want to hit forehand or backhand then move your feet to the right spot and hit the ball back. Tennis is not a hard sport to play, you just have to be really focus on the ball and your feet position.
So, overall I think tennis is a really good sport to play if you want to try a new sport. The process of learning is fun and you can actually learn a lot from it.
Hello Brian! Coincidentally, I also started playing tennis at Court One to start off! For me at first, tennis was just a sport I played for fun(especially since I sucked when I first started) but later I became competitive. I joined the tennis team at OHS and was pretty good my first year. However, right now I have currently stopped due to a dislocated shoulder and arthroscopic surgery. Anyways, what do you like more: Doubles or singles and why?
